“New Dawn, New Day”

Inauguration Day today brought us the wonderful words of Amanda Gorman whose inaugural poem concluded,

And every corner called our country.
Our people diverse and beautiful will emerge, battered and beautiful.
When day comes, we step out of the shade of flame and unafraid, the new dawn balloons, as we free it.
For there was always light.
If only we’re brave enough to see it.
If only we’re brave enough to be it.

Tomorrow’s workout is a shoutout to the 49th Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris (born 10/20/64) and the 46th President of the United States, Joe Biden (born 11/20/42). Oh, and also Joe’s Peloton bike, whether it’s allowed in the White House or not.

Workout for Thursday, January 21st, 2021 —

2 Rounds for Time of:

2021m Bike

49 Air Squats

10 Burpee Box Jump Overs (24/20)

20 Power Cleans (135/95)

64 Push Ups

46 Air Squats

11 Burpee Box Jump Overs

20 Power Cleans

42 Push Ups

If you don’t have a box, do a burpee deadlift or a burpee jump over something else or a burpee to a target. Go on the heavy side for the cleans and if you don’t have a bike, sub half row or run.

  2. Went a little rogue… did weighted sit ups rather than push ups. Only 20# DB for PC and regular burpees. One round only… long enough for a workday morn for me! 20:22.

  3. 39:55 all RX except power cleans at #80 and that was heavy enough. Saw Hannah doing her Lizzo peloton class while I did my 2021😀

    Ah, Emily too funny! That Lizzo ride was so fun. You should have high fived me! I haven’t figured out how to initiate a Peloton high five, but I have given a few back.

    Glad I made this playlist longer yesterday. Didn’t realize how long this would take. For those needing a shorter AM sweat, one round will suffice. Listening to this playlist at work now.
